In the last few years, I changed my domain name and focus so many times that I lost count. It was a bit ridiculous.
Fortunately, I was also able to pinpoint exactly what I love about blogging and I learned a lot about my blogging self.
Here are the 4 things I want most for my blog…
Simple Blogging Life
I’ve already simplified my digital life by eliminating duplicate files and old downloads that aren’t relevant to me anymore.
There were like a gazillion of them.. Sheesh!
I am also working on simplifying some of the blog-specific areas such as social media, blogging tools, and my own processes. (More on this in a future post!)
Build A Community
I think what I crave more than anything else is to have a small group of readers who read my blog, leave comments, hang out with me online, and become my virtual friends. I’m not sure how to cultivate this type of community yet, but I plan to start with the basics like visiting other blogs and joining conversations online.
I will also try writing posts that encourage conversations and build connections. Because that’s the stuff that makes blogging fun…
Have Fun Blogging
I always seem to get caught up in what everyone else is doing. I feel like I broke that pattern with my last blogging break. Now, I want to have fun with blogging again by writing whatever I feel like (even if it might not do well on social) and not paying attention to what everyone else is doing.
Take My Own Pictures
I never took my own photos in the past. But, this time around I am only using photos I (or my husband) take. I plan to supplement with the occasional GIF – because GIFs.
I’m not against stock photos. In the past, it was all I used and was truly grateful to have them available. I just want my blog to be full of me. And GIFs 😉
So, that’s what I want most for my blog. I want it to be simple & fun, filled with my own words and images surrounded by a community of cool people who get me.
